If you’re reading this, our very FIRST blog post, then we are thrilled for you to be joining us on this journey. Not only that but we’re overjoyed at the potential we could unleash in you to change the lives of so many individuals, so desperately in need within our community.
Let’s start with a little history, shall we. We are a mama/daughter duo (check out our ABOUT ME section to read more about that) and there a few things we know for certain in life. We know for certain that life, for many, can be a struggle. An uphill battle. A “one thing after the other” kind of road. Having lived through and overcome various obstacles…. single parenting, domestic abuse, encounters with drug addiction, teenage pregnancy. You name it, one of us has experienced it. One of us has been that stereotype.
That being said, another thing we know for certain is that the love and support from some incredible people, sometimes complete strangers, has changed both of our paths drastically. And what else do we know? WE WANT TO HELP! It really is as simple as that. We want to help. And we know that so many of you want to help as well.
The desperation and struggle in our communities can be so overwhelming. Where do I start? How can I help? Who should I help? The list goes on. This is something Linking Lives Inc. will facilitate! WE want to help YOU help OTHERS! Crazy concept… we know! We want to link the haves with the have-nots and in turn not only improve the lives of those experiencing adversity but also inspire growth and joy in those of you willing to open yourselves up to being a part of our organization.
This blog will be a transparent, honest narrative of our journey to establishing a non-profit organization. We hope that you’ll follow us as we share all of the ups and downs, the success stories and the failures along the way. More importantly, we hope that you’ll jump on board with us on our path to combating poverty and all of the misfortune that comes with it.
